Sibling is the project of Menna McAlpin, an emerging jeweller from Naarm/Melbourne currently based on Kaurna Yerta/Adelaide. Sibling was created as an avenue through which Menna could create the jewellery they wish to wear as a queer and trans person. They have always loved making things with their hands and are inspired by magic in the mundane, queerness and fluidity of identity. Menna graduated from the Advanced Diploma of Jewellery and Object Design from Melbourne Polytechnic and is a current Associate at the Jamfactory in Adelaide.
“I utilise my practice to represent my inner world to the outer. I am driven by a deep desire to share how nature, being queer, and my life experiences have shaped the lens through which I see the world.”
